May Update
We are so glad that spring is here and hope you are too. Our trip to West Virginia to play shows with Qiet was wholesome and enjoyable. It is nice to know there are people like them that can show us a good time but also teach us so much. Back at home now and we are in the right mind to get down to business with our recordings at Goodshirt studios. We are very excited to share our revised and new material with everyone with willing ears. Please keep checking in and check out the shows page for some upcoming events.
Our next big show is at Springscape. It will be a great time and much bigger than last year so come out and enjoy a day of music!
Other news: Singing Out For Autism was a great success. The Brandywine Folk Collective has some mighty fine surprises up their sleeves for the Brandywine Folk Festival this summer. Everyone is working hard to prepare for the great acts that will be coming through Kennett Square’s Anson B. Nixon Park August 23-25th.
Here’s a few just to tease you- Pearl and the Beard, Cheers Elephant, Mean Lady, Toy Soldiers. Check out their website for more.
We will also be playing JAM ON THE BRANDYWINE this year in September.
And as always, stay cool, relax, life is but a dream. Float on down and don’t frown because if you do we’ll SCREAM!
Exciting News For Us and The Brandywine Folk Collective
Hey and welcome to spring. The time of year when music and art flourishes like the budding leaves and the multiplicity of creatures procreating.
the Pretty Dittys are no exception. We have been busy as beavers, bees, and bullcocks trying to get The Brandywine Folk Festivals up and running (there’s one on April 13th and multi-day festival in August. Check Facebook for more info) as well as looking for a new Pretty Ditty band house and writing new material. The Brandywine Folk Collective, comprised of members of The Pretty dittys, Beggars Cup, and more to come, is a group focused on providing and supporting the local music scene.
Did I mention new material? Yes, and different instruments.
Did I mention upcoming shows? Check out our shows page for more info or hit up the Facebook.
Is there anything else?
OH…..don’t forget to do some creating of your own. No matter what you do remember to contemplate how you want to serve humanity with your talents. Everyone has one…or two. USE THEM! And remember to serve others out of the kindness of your heart.
Go In Peace,

aural treats
Mad Men. This band from Carlisle, PA made a great impression on A.J. and I tonight at Ortleibs Lounge in Philly. Many Andre 3000, Herbie Hancock, and original funky jams. They made us all dance in the red lights. Hope to see these guys around here again soon. Thanks, Em for the suggestion

Here’s a little treat I found at a radio station cd giveaway on the “aXIOM cOLLECTION volume II”
Winter Doldrums Recap and Exciting Events to Come
Thanks so much to Michele Lynn and the performers at the Winter Doldrums Folk Festival. We had a great time and made many friends at the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia. We left early but for good cause. Our good friend and filmmaker, Cameron Starr (AKA CAMROONIAN MAN ON YOUTUBE) needed assistance recording a soundtrack for his new short film, The Knights Maize (soon to be released once we finish tracking the soundtrack.) Cameron is entering his recently completed feature “THE TIMBO BINGE” in Film festivals throughout Europe where he will be travelling this spring.
Next Gig is at THE NORTH STAR BAR on MARCH 9TH. Make sure to catch this show. We are really excited to play the stage with bands like
Jason Jeffries
and
The World at Large
as well as sharing the stage again with The Devil’s Triangle. We have checked out their tracks on line and gotta say these bands sound MIND BLOWING. Find one of us for $7 tickets (MATT, MEL, ALEX, STEVE, OR AJ can help you out) or get yours at the door for $9.
